Tyler's 1st Birthday Party (Part 1)

We celebrated Tyler’s first birthday on Saturday and we had an under the sea themed party! It was perfect for him because he LOVES water! I had a lot of fun planning all the food! I saw so many cute ideas on pinterest! Bryan really liked the names of each food. I think his favorite was the blue hawaiian punch that we called “ocean potion”.

So first we ate, then we went outside to play in the water. (water pictures are in part 2) We got Tyler a water table for his present and he loved it! And so did all the other kids! We got a sprinkler ring on clearance at target and I thought Tyler would like it because he loves the splash pad at the park and he just sits there and splashes at one sprinkler, but it was a little too boring so Derek brought out the slip n slide. The boys liked that much better! Tyler really liked the end of the slide, it was like a little pool just for him!

When we were done playing outside, we came inside to open presents. Tyler got a wagon from Grandma Lorie and Grandpa Rick! And a lion ball popper from Grandpa Pete and Steve! We got him a little people dump truck and a ball too! He played with his toys while Daddy and Grandpa Rick put together the wagon.

Tyler started getting a little cranky because it was nap time so we had cake. He liked it, but I don’t think he smiled at all while he was eating it. He was probably too tired by that time! When he was done he said goodbye to everyone and went to sleep.

We filled cookie cutters with chocolate melts to make the shapes for the cake. And then crushed graham crackers for the sand around the bottom. 

Grandma was trying to get Tyler to walk, but he wouldn't.
