Malaya's toe

Jesse and Malaya decided to sneak into the bag of Christmas candy on the counter 2 days ago. But the bag of candy was sitting on top of a plate and as Malaya pulled to get the bag of candy the plate fell off the counter and broke. She got cut on her big toe and it’s all bruised now. She’s fine now, but the night that it happened, she had to sit with her leg up on a pillow the whole night. Here’s what her toe looked like last night.

Merry Christmas!

On Christmas Eve we went over to Dad’s house around 3. We watched Kung Fu Panda 2 and snacked on crackers and veggies until dinner. Mel and Jared came over just before dinner and the kids were so excited to see her!! After dinner, we opened presents and then played a little and got ready to leave.

When we came home, we tracked Santa on the computer and got cookies ready for him before the kids went to bed. They thought it was so cool to see where he was!

On Christmas morning, we were all up at 5 except for Malaya. The boys weren’t allowed to go downstairs until 6 so they talked in their room until then. The boys went through their stockings and played with their toys for a little while. They played wii until Malaya woke up and then we ate snowman pancakes for breakfast and then finally opened present around 8.

We went over to Derek’s grandparents house around 12 and the kids opened presents there. We couldn’t stay for long because it was past Malaya’s naptime and she really needed one!! When we got back home, Bryan played outside and Derek started cooking. We had a yummy turkey dinner and then relaxed the rest of the night. It was a great day and I know the kids had a lot of fun with all their new toys!!

Happy 8th Birthday Bryan!!

Yesterday was Bryan's 8th birthday!! It was the first time he ever had school on his birthday so he got to bring treats to his class which he was really excited about! After school, he played outside with his friend with his new football and when he came inside, there were 8 balloons that were each filled with a 1 dollar bill!! The balloons would pop anytime they touched the ceiling so at the end of the night, there was only one left to pop by himself. Grandpa Pete and Steve came over and brought the cake. Bryan asked Grandpa for a Kung Fu Panda cake last week. When we asked what he wanted for his birthday dinner, he said he wanted PF Changs but we decided to make Chinese food at home instead of going out. Derek made Mongolian beef, chicken lo mein, rice, and broccoli. It was all really good!! After dinner, Bryan opened his presents and then we had cake. I think he had a lot of fun!!!
