C-section

I'm having a c-section tomorrow, August 29th at 12pm. :( I'm excited that Tyler will be here, but not excited about the c-section. Wish me luck!

Malaya's first bad haircut!

All of our kids need haircuts but I didn't want to pay full price for Malaya since all she needs is a bang trim and that's still $6!! So we decided to cut her hair this morning. I started cutting it and then I cut too short on one side so Derek tried fixing it. She still looks cute but it's definitely a bad haircut!


Bryan got a real haircut yesterday and his looks very handsome!Here he is holding a bowl of fresh potatoes they just picked from our garden.

Tyler's stuff

Tyler's stuff is all ready for him and now we just need him to get here! I still don't have a c-section scheduled, but I'm hoping to go into labor on my own anyways. I'll be 39 weeks on Tuesday so this is the longest I've ever been pregnant. Here are a few pictures I took of Tyler's stuff in our room. He's gonna share a room with us until he's sleeping through the night and then he'll share with Malaya.





And I have to show off this cute little suit I got for Jesse at a yard sale on Saturday. It's from JC Penney and it's brand new with the tag and I paid $3!

Sacramento Zoo

I'm too tired to actually write anything but I wanted to post some pictures from our trip to the zoo today.

Potty trained!

Jesse is officially potty trained!! He goes pee and poo on the potty now and he tells me every time he has to go! It’s only been a few days so he might have some accidents but he hasn’t had any so far! Here he is in big boy underwear!


Jesse ate French toast for breakfast this morning and then he got down and I washed his hands and when we walked back over to the table, Malaya was sitting in his chair eating his leftovers.


Since I took Malaya’s picture, Bryan and Jesse wanted me to take theirs too!

I love Kohls!

I got a free $10 Kohls gift card in the mail last week and went to Kohls today to use it. I found a pair of skechers in Bryan’s size on clearance for $17.99 so I got those for him. He needed new shoes for the new school year and I was so excited that I only had to pay $8 for skechers after my gift card! The original price was $44.99…I would never pay that much for kids shoes. I don’t even pay that much for my own shoes.

I ordered Malaya’s bedding set online today and Dad had a 30% off coupon with his Kohls card that I used. So it was on sale for $35 and then I saved $10.50 with the discount and I also had a coupon code for free shipping so after taxes I paid a total of $26.97. And when I was at the store this morning I looked at the set and it was full price in the store! So I basically got it for 75% off!!!

Yesterday we went over to dad and Mel’s to go swimming. We go over every Monday and I’ve been meaning to bring my camera with me but I always forget it. Yesterday I finally remembered it and I took some pictures when we went before dinner, but after dinner when dad came with us, my battery died as soon as I turned it on so I couldn’t take any more pictures. I was so upset! Of course, the one time I actually bring the camera, it dies!

Bryan’s doing really well with his swimming and he wanted me to take a picture of him underwater. Jesse doesn’t like being in his floaty anymore so when we went after dinner, Dad just held him and he had a lot more fun that way.

Malaya's new furniture

Malaya needed a dresser so I could take the changing table out of her room and use it for Tyler. We went yard saling one day but didn’t have any luck finding a dresser so I started looking on craigslist. I found a few that looked ok and they were around $20-$30 each. Then I found a whole bedroom set for $50. It included a twin size bed with the headboard, footboard, mattress and box spring mattress, 2 nightstands, a dresser and a mirror. It was a light wood and pretty banged up, but we decided to get it and sand it and then paint it white. When we got it, I was surprised at how nice it was!

Anyways, Derek’s been working on it and he finished the dresser and one nightstand and we brought them up to Malaya’s room so I could get started on Tyler’s stuff in our room. I think they turned out really cute and I’ll post another picture when the whole set is complete and put together in her room. I’m planning on getting her a bedding set from Kohls.com but i can’t decide if I should order it now or if I should wait until she’s actually ready to move into it. It’s on sale online right now so that’s why I really want to get it now. It’s originally $99.99 and it’s on sale for $35! Well, here’s the 2 pieces that are finished. Didn’t Derek do a great job!!??

Nursery

I got a called to be a nursery worker about 2 weeks ago and today was my first week in there. It was a lot of fun and the time went by really fast! I was a little worried about being in there with Jesse but he did really well. He was so cute playing with all his friends! I’m sure it will be interesting when Malaya starts going next month though. She’s so clingy, but hopefully she'll have fun playing and not worry about me playing with other kids!

My to do list

Here’s my list of everything we need to get done before Tyler gets here. I know I’m forgetting some things too!! I have so much to do and not enough time!! Mel came over today to watch the kids while Derek and I got some work done so I took a few things off the list that we got done this morning!! Yay! Now I need a whole day without the kids to get everything else done!

Shampoo carpets
Shampoo the couch!
Stock the freezer
Wash swing and bouncy seat covers
Install the car seat
Malaya’s bedroom set sanded and painted and put together in her room
Hang up pictures upstairs
Put together Tyler’s stuff in our room

This blog is usually all about the kids, but this post is about Derek and me! Last Thursday was our 4 year anniversary! We didn’t have anything planned, but Derek and Mel both got off work at 9 so she came over and babysat while Derek and I went out for ice cream.

I’m 36 weeks pregnant now!! Woohoo!! Less than a month to go! I’m in that stage of pregnancy now where I’m uncomfortable all the time! This is definitely the hardest pregnancy for me! I’m glad it’s almost over, but I have so much stuff to get done before he gets here so I don’t want it to be over just yet.

Derek went out last weekend with his Grandpa to cut down fire wood for this winter. He ended up staying out there all by himself while his Grandpa brought a load of wood to our house which took about 5 hours round trip. He was out there with absolutely nothing but a chainsaw. He didn’t think it would take his Grandpa that long to get back. While he was out there, he saw a bear and scared it away with his chainsaw. Then he got attacked by mosquitos because of course the bug spray stuff was in his Grandpa’s truck. You wouldn’t believe how many mosquito bites he has! It’s crazy. By the time his Grandpa got back to pick him and the rest of the wood up, it was pitch black and Derek was so scared he was ready to cry! Those are his words!! Poor Derek!

Yesterday before work, Derek was splitting some wood and he went to grab a log and the log next to it rolled and smashed his pinky finger. Ouch! These logs are 25-50 pounds each by the way.

Then he stopped by his Grandpa’s house to pick up his old chainsaw. He said Derek could have it but it needed to be fixed up. Derek started working on it when he got home and he ended up cutting his leg open with it. OMG I was so freaked out! It’s a small cut, but it’s really deep! Derek’s dad glued it closed for him with first aid glue and he’s got it all bandaged up now. His dad just got some kind of stitch kit from Emergency Essentials and he really wanted to try it out on Derek, but he wouldn’t let him. Lol

It seems like Derek is always hurting himself! Last night I told him, he can’t do anything like that when it’s close to my due date because I don’t want him to be too hurt to help me while I’m in labor or something.

I didn’t take a picture of the cut yesterday because I was too busy freaking out, but here’s what Derek’s leg looks like today all glued up.


And you know I can’t not post pictures of the kids so here’s Jesse and Malaya in the pool today. Bryan had a friend over to go swimming so we all got in and Malaya is loving the pool now!


And this is Jesse and Malaya being silly while Bryan was at swimming lessons this morning.

Swimming Lessons

Bryan started swimming lessons today! He gets to go every day(M-F) for the next 2 weeks. It’s at an indoor pool and it was soooo hot in there!! He had fun, he likes his teacher, and he really liked the boards he got to use.





And while I was uploading the swimming pictures to my computer, I put Jesse at the table with some paper and some crayons. Here’s the picture he colored for me.


Isn’t it pretty? He was so excited to show me! The only problem is it’s not on paper, it’s on the wall!
